Something strong in the center of myself drives me to paint no matter what the circumstance in my life. I am true to this inner voice. My goals and aspirations are the same as they were years ago; I strive to simply create beautiful paintings in an unrestrained, expressive style. I begin a piece by looking at or thinking about my subject, and recognizing what inspires me about it. I try to keep that in mind throughout the process, while letting my instinct rule how the painting is expressed. My paint brush is an extension of my soul. My medium of choice is oil paint. I keep my palette simple and like the freedom and absolute honesty that painting gives me. A painting speaks a language absent of words, that people can understand in an instant. As a painter, I strive to give the gift of expression and beauty. I love to enrich peoples lives with my work. Overall, the process of making a great painting is very symbolic of life itself, packed full of thought and emotion, yet stunningly simple.

I am eternally interested in raw expression, freedom, beauty, chaos, harmony and research. There are glimpses of expressing myself all at once and I work daily to achieve this goal. I often bounce hard back and forth between form and expression which ads a unique dimension to my work.
I use a combination of traditional and abstract painting approaches to create each piece. Some may lean more towards traditional, while others are clearly abstract. Patterns emerge in my work and continue to grow with my style. I see elements in my work that were developed years ago. Simultaneously I am constantly incorporating new techniques into my style.
A few themes are relatively constant throughout the years. My medium of choice is oil paint. My palette is simple, often only with 4 colors.
Robin Caspari is an oil painter living, working and teaching in Central Virginia. Of recent she has won awards, such as Second Place overall in 2022 Plein Air Salon Annual Competition, and multiple First place awards for Plein Air Salon's monthly divisions. She has also been included in National Shows hosted by the National Impressionist Society and National Oil and Acrylic Painters to name a few.
Over the years, she has enjoyed raising funds through her art sales for multiple charities such as The Cloud Foundation, The Children’s Hospital, The Humane Society and The Corolla Wild Horse Fund to name a few. Her Paintings hang in private collections including Bayer Aspirin National Headquarters and Sweet Briar Colleges’ Presidential Suite. Some of her paintings hang in collections that include historical artists such as Picasso and Degas. Robin has worked under the tutelage of many Masters including Carolyn Anderson, Scott Christensen, Derek Penix, Robert Johnson and Kevin Macpherson to develop a unique and informed style of painting that continues to evolve. Robin’s work has been included in many National shows and Galleries, and she is an active member of the National Impressionist Society and American Women Artists.
